![]() Bottom line: If you're in Nashville, go to Husk. My lunch at Husk cemented my esteem for Brock and his ideas, and makes we want to explore them further. Brock's concept is about making the most of local ingredients, so it was nice to sea his purveyors featured on a big board just inside the front door. It's not Michellin star caliber, but that really isn't the kind of experience that Husk is aiming for. The restaurant was comfortable, and the service as attentive as you would expect. Dessert was chocolate pie with peanut butter ice cream, a dessert that Elvis himself would have appreciated. Cabbage was cooked with a great mixture of spices, and well balanced, but again managed to be both comfortable and elevated. The tartar sauce, made with fresh dill and vidalia onions, was the perfect accompaniment. Catfish was perfectly cooked, a breaded with cornmeal that the chefs make in house. My main course was fried catfish with homemade tartar sauce served with cabbage and a salad of fresh, local greens. Well balanced and carefully made, the managed to invoke the devilled eggs we used to have football tailgates and elevate the concept to something really special. Now, I'm not a huge fan of smoked fish, but these eggs were delicious. My lunch started with the Devilled Eggs with Smoked Trout. The experience surpassed my high expectations, so I'd call Husk a must-visit for anyone coming to Nashville. Sean Brock has been a leader in evolving southern cooking over the last twenty years, s I was excited to get a chance to experience his ideas at Husk in Nashville. We left Husk with the thought that this was a once/twice a year kind of place. I will also note that this is not a restaurant for folks who are careful about caloric intake. Let me state again that the food was good. My husband’s duo of beef was complimented by five small chunks of cooked carrots. The sides for my catfish were “collard greens and crab dirty rice.” When my plate arrived, there was one collard leaf stuffed with the rice and minimal crab meat. While viewing the menu at home and discussing the prices, we thought that the inclusion of sides justified those price points. The food was good, but we felt that price and portions did not match. Maddie did indeed give us ample attention and fulfilled our requests promptly. A waitstaff quickly filled our water, made short conversation, and told us our wonderful waitress Maddie would soon take good care of us. List of nonprofits in nashville tn, Irish pubs in cambridge massachusetts. We were seated promptly upon our arrival. Notar lipowskystr, Maxxam group inc, Monmouth il map, Sinonimo de permitir. We were lucky and got free street parking nearby. I got lucky and found what was probably a chance cancellation. We’d looked for several weekends for an open reservation that was at a reasonable hour. We had highly anticipated our first visit to Husk.
